Our team has been retained by Labrador Iron Mines Limited to sell the complete plant and process equipment at their Silver Yards DSO (direct ship ore) project near Schefferville Quebec.
Interested purchasers will have two options: 1.) Purchasing it AS IS WHERE IS, or 2.) It can be dismantled and made available in Sept-Îles, Quebec on the St. Lawrence River. In either case the equipment will be sold based upon LIM’s (Labrador Iron Mines) terms & conditions.
The crushing, sorting and beneficiating plant has seen relatively little use, having operated only seasonally for three (3) years. In July 2013, they commissioned the new 3rd line and subsequently shut the complete plant down in November 2013 for that season. Based on prevailing commodity pricing at that time and through to the current time, the plant never resumed operation.
The plant initially started in June 2011 and operated through October 2011 for 5 months, and then from June 2012 until August 2012 (3 months). It again started up in May of 2013 and ran through October 2013 for 6 months. There is just over one (1) year total run-time on the plant. Phase 2 was commissioned in 2012 just before the shutdown for the year. Phase three was commissioned in July of 2013. The WHIMS was only briefly commissioned towards the end of the 2013 operating season and produced approximately 20,000 tonnes.
